Commissioners
Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland appoint a commissioner for the International Fishery Commission. The commissioners make decisions about the recreational and professional fishery, while taking into consideration economic factors, as well as additional fishing management aspects. Resolutions made by the IBKF must be implemented in national law. Every country compiles an annual report.
Currently, the International Fishery Commission is held once a year and is usually in June. Except Liechtenstein, every contracting state takes over the business management for three years. The yearly conference is held for two days and the first day is reserved for a preliminary meeting of the federal fishery officers, the International Lake Constance Fishery Union (IBF), and designated members of the IGKB. The second day is reserved for the members of International Lake Constance Fishery commission. Resolutions of the International Lake Constance Fishery commission have to be unanimously agreed on by members the commission. Resolutions made by the IBKF must be implemented into national law.
