Report of the Migratory Fish Working Group for the year 2022

The lake trout catch of professional fishermen decreased by 16% compared to the previous year. This low yield confirms the low yields since 2016. The lake trout catch of anglers remained almost unchanged in 2022 at the level of 2021. The catch is thus stabilising at a low level.

At KW Reichenau, 49 lake trout were detected in the automatic count and 73 in trap catches in 2022. This is a decrease of more than 50 % compared to the previous year, and thus the lowest value since 2000.

The migratory species nase has been included in the work programme as a second species alongside lake trout. The work on this is ongoing; a first basic report with the distribution and an assessment of the endangerment of the nase has already been submitted.
